Julia Fiona Roberts born to Betty Lou Bredemus (mother) and Walter Grady Roberts on October 28 the 28th of October, 1967. Her great-grandfather John Pendleton Roberts, a farmer was the first Roberts to move to Atlanta. At an early age, her father was interested in theatre. While a student at Emory University he appeared in various productions both on and off campus. After he enlisted in the Air force in Biloxi, he was seen with Betty Lou Bredemus in Biloxi. They got married in 1955. Their first son, Eric Anthony, was born in the year 1956. In 1957, the couple quit the Air Force and Walter was enrolled in Tulane University in New Orleans Louisiana. In 1960 the family moved to Decatur Georgia where Walter began working at Atlanta's Academy Theater and the Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio. Walter as well as Betty Lou produced a Saturday morning show on local television that was aimed at children, known as Bum Bum and His Buddies in 1964. This was a project they self-financed. They founded an Actors and Writers Workshop in the year 1964, and it ran for about six years. Lelisa Billingsley often referred to as Lisa, was born in the year 1965. Julia Billingsley followed in 1967.
